With the kids celebrating their own new type of Halloween, it’s time for you to as well!

Chances are that if you are now empty nesters, that your friend is too. So what better way to celebrate your empty nests than with an empty nest Halloween party!

This is our guide to throwing your first empty nester Halloween party.

  1. Gather the troops

Make a list of your couple friends, especially those with empty nests! Gather the list together and send out some invites.

  1. Make it themed!

Giving your friends a theme to stick to helps with the nervousness that comes along with figuring out what costume to wear.

Some awesome theme ideas include:

Glow-in-the-dark

Haunted house

Renaissance

Scary science fair

  1. Halloween trivia game

One of the most popular games with big crowds is trivia!  Split up the group and have a Halloween movie trivia contest! Throw it back to the old school movies that you and your group grew up with. This will get the fun and the nostalgia to an all-time high!

4. Press conference game

Set up a “press conference” and have your guests answer questions as to their character!

  1. Award best costume!

This could be for most creative, most scary, or just the best!  Don’t forget to give the winner a super-sized candy bar as their reward.

With the kiddos off to play, the adults can now reclaim Halloween as their own. Make this party a yearly event and you will be looking forward to Halloween all year long!
