- Lack of control in regards to the behavior
- Withdrawal from activities the person usually enjoys
- Inability to stop usage even if they want to
- Pursuing the behavior when it is risky or inconvenient
Addiction is a complicated and multifaceted disease that affects both the brain and the body. It can wreak havoc a person’s work, family, present, and future. The up side is that addiction is preventable and treatable with appropriate professional help and support.
